Australia Day 2022

Yesterday, as part of the Australia Day 2022 celebrations, I attended the WugulOra Morning Ceremony at Barangaroo Reserve.  WugulOra, meaning ‘One Mob’, is a special moment on January 26 acknowledging our shared history and the traditional custodians of the land.  You can enjoy the beautiful aboriginal dance performance via this link: WugulOra Morning Ceremony | Australia Day 2022 | ABC Australia - YouTube

I managed to capture a few images of the Koomurri Aboriginal Dance Troupe’s  performance although the barriers prevented me from getting any closer.  Security guards were quick to admonish me for standing on the barrier attempting to get a higher viewing point.  For me, observing aboriginal dance is always a haunting and mesmerising experience.  A worthy subject for my first blog post!  HOME PAGE
